Esports Research Network Conference 2024: Where Worlds Collide
Conference Overview
In anticipation of the 2024 League of Legends World Finals in London, we are excited to announce the next Esports Research Network Conference, entitled ‘Where Worlds Collide’. The conference will be an interdisciplinary gathering of scholars, researchers, industry professionals, and enthusiasts in the field of esports and aims to explore the dynamic intersections between gaming cultures, competitive play, game design, and spectatorship within the esports ecosystem.

We invite submissions that address, but are not limited to, the following themes:

Submission Guidelines
There are four types of submissions. Please follow the submission guidelines template.
Presentation Abstracts: Abstracts must not exceed 300 words and should clearly outline the research question, methodology, results (if applicable), and implications Please also specify within your abstract if you plan to submit a full paper.
Full Papers: In collaboration with the Journal of Electronic Gaming and Esports, we are inviting full papers for consideration in a special issue on ‘Where Worlds Collide: Interdisciplinary Approaches to Esports Research’ should be 10,000 words, including abstract, references, tables, and figures. They must be formatted according to the guidelines of the journal.
Panels and Workshops: Proposals for panels and workshops should include a title, a 500-word rationale, including topic structure, and brief bios of the participants.
Poster Presentations: Submissions for poster presentations should include a 200-word abstract and a draft poster design. Poster submissions should be at maximum DIN A0 size, minimum 150 ppi, be easily readable, and adhere to the following general guidelines: include a clear title, use legible fonts and high-quality images, and ensure the content is well-organized and concise. Participants are required to send us the document file, so we can print it.
